FRENCH BULLDOG LIFTING PAW SCULPTURE

“This French Bulldog sculpture was modelled on Mae, a beautiful and bouncy dog, whose age seemed no impediment to her zest for life.
Mae was a joyful soul, who passed away not long after she was commissioned. I hope I’ve captured a little piece of her lively companionship for her family to remember her by.”

This bronze french bulldog statue bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the French Bulldog Lifting Paw sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support ‘The Dogs Trust’ animal charity.

Which Material to Choose

Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.

Foundry Bronze  – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.

Sculpture Description, Bases & Fixings

Suitable for outdoor display as a French Bulldog garden ornament or frenchie memorial statue.

For indoor use this statue is mounted on a slate base. For use on soft ground this statue is mounted on a steel subframe for additional stability, which you can place into a shallow hole in the ground and then bury with your chosen covering of turf, soil or gravel. The sculpture is mounted a small distance above the frame on rods, to allow turf to grow after it is laid over the subframe. You can attach security chain to the subframe, but if particularly concerned about security you can protect the mounting rods that attach the sculpture to the subframe from being cut by using poured concrete. If you are mounting the sculpture on a pre-existing hard surface, please tell us and we will provide a casting that is not mounted on a subframe.

This lively lifesized french bulldog statue is sculpted by the artist Tanya Russell, who is the UK’s pre-eminent dog sculptor. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the French Bulldog Lifting Paw statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.

The French Bulldog Lifting Paw is a limited edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original clay french bulldog dog sculpture, taken from a mould. Your bronze dog sculpture can be cast in Bronze Resin or Foundry Bronze metal depending on which material you prefer.

How The Sculpture Was Made

I visited Mae and took lots of photographs of her in a variety of poses. I watched her expressions and mannerisms, and heard about the way she behaved at home with her family. After that, with her owners, I decided which pose would suit her best, then proceeded to model Mae in clay.

Once I’d sculpted Mae a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.

Client Testimonials

[I] “was thrilled to see Mae centre stage.  She would have loved all the attention and admiring looks that her model received.  It is such a wonderful reminder of a lovely dog, as were all of our seven frenchies.”
