Public Sculpture Cost Calculator
How much does a public statue cost? The cost of a public sculpture depends on several factors, including design fees, the size and type of statue, whether a plinth is required, and transportation and installation costs.
Our public sculpture cost calculator is designed for individuals, organisations, and corporations carrying out initial research and looking for a quick estimate. The calculator helps you explore costs based on the sculpture’s size, plinth requirements, and whether you need delivery only or full delivery and installation.
If you would like detailed pricing and bespoke designs for your sculpture project, you can take the next step by requesting a custom design brief and quotation from our team.

Dimensions & Sizing
Your sculpture will be uniquely shaped and sized for your space. These dimensions and sizings are just indicators to give a sense of how costs change with the volume and size of your public sculpture commission. Commissioning a Design Brief will help you get to grips with what size works for your budget, and how concepts might be scaled to create the impact that you want.
Height and width is easiest for a client to understand, though casting costs are based on volume and surface area. Here is an indication of how the sizes above increase volume:

Edition
Most public statues are unique, ensuring the sculpture is a one-of-a-kind place-maker. These unique statues are called ‘edition 1 of 1’.
It is possible to reduce the cost of your public sculpture by agreeing a slightly larger limited edition, which may allow a budgetarily constrained project to achieve the impact it aims for. In these cases, later editions can only be provided to private individuals. This can also be quite appropriate where fans, stakeholders, or donors, might also want a copy of the sculpture.
It is possible to create smaller statues for various purposes, including as gifts to VIPs, or to raise funds, and if you’d like to discuss this, please let us know
Which Material to Choose
We always recommend Foundry Bronze for public statues, as it is significantly more durable and resilient in outdoor and high-traffic environments than resin alternatives. Bronze offers exceptional longevity, weather resistance, and structural integrity, making it the preferred choice for civic spaces, memorials, schools, parks, and other public settings where a sculpture must withstand decades of exposure and interaction.
We are also able to produce statues and sculptural works in a range of alternative metals, including cast stainless steel, fabricated stainless steel, galvanised steel, and corten steel. Each material offers its own distinctive appearance and practical advantages, from the polished contemporary finish of stainless steel to the rich industrial patina of corten steel. Please contact us to discuss the most suitable material for your project.
Where it is less important that a sculpture lasts a hundred years of more, it is possible to create very large-scale, shorter life sculptures (such as for business advertising purposes), such as giant objects, animals and corporate symbols in resin, and with appropriate care and placement, these can last decades.
Sculpture Description, Bases & Fixings
We believe public sculpture should combine artistic ambition with lasting civic value. Our approach prioritises robust construction, public safety, and the highest standards of materials, fabrication, and installation to ensure each work performs reliably in demanding public environments. Every sculpture is designed in response to its specific site, creating meaningful placemaking that enhances the character, identity, and experience of the spaces people share.
How The Sculpture Was Made
We are happy to provide photos and video of the process of making your public statue, and for corporations or institutions that would like us to provide assets for their own marketing and film development teams, we are willing to talk about how we can support your PR, marketing and social media efforts.
Here is an example of a film our filmographer created for Aston Villa for their social media campaign showing how the sculpture was made. In this case, they commissioned two separate teaser trailers in mobile phone format to celebrate their AV150 anniversary.
Delivery & Returns
Delivery is normally performed by the Artist, though if you have international freight forwarding in place, we can discuss how to facilitate transporting your public sculpture through systems you already have in place, if you wish.
Installation may be performed by you or by us, depending on the needs and geographical location of your project, and can be quoted for.
As commissioned work, public statues are not subject to our return policies, but we do have cancellation policies that will be included in your contract that we can talk about, and our work is covered by £5M Professional Indemnity Insurance and £10M Public Liability Insurance. We also insure public sculpture in transit.
Client Testimonials
Of the AVFC Lion, “She’s done an amazing job. I really think she’s encapsulated everything that Aston Villa stands for.” Katherine Merry, AV150 Board Member
“These two bronze sculptures pay homage to the nature that we’ve brought back to this former gasholder site. Our purpose as a business is holistic placemaking,” Jonathan Brooks, Head of Responsible Business, Berkeley Homes
Of the Space for Nature Spiral, “at over 600cm high and 300cm wide at the base, this incredible piece celebrates the reintroduction of natural habitats into the area and depicts a number of the plant and animal life which can be found locally.” Berkeley Group
Of the Swooping House Martins, “Swooping House Martins, creates an impressive scene, poised above one of the winding canals at Chelsea Creek. Depicting two graceful house martins in flight, the sculpture sees a spectacular 200cm spread from wing tip to wing tip, hovering above the water” Berkeley Group
Maintenance & Security
We have a diverse range of approaches to the special security and maintenance needs for your public statue. Public health and safety is built in from the start of our design process, and we will discuss throughout the consultation the various methods of ensuring your public sculpture meets the needs of your site, and can be maintained to look fantastic for many decades to come.
Site-specific security considerations for part of our discussions with you at the beginning of your project. Maintenance instructions and the contact details of a recommended public statue cleaner are provided afterwards (and at that time we can also solicit a quote for a one-off or ongoing maintenance contract). For smaller projects, maintenance is very simple and easily performed by you, with a complimentary care kit provided with your instructions, which includes everything that you need to start caring for your public statue.
