About Bronze Bird Sculptures by Tanya Russell MRBS

Tanya Russell is renowned for her skill in animal sculpture, with her work celebrating birds and wildlife receiving widespread acclaim. Working with Foundry Bronze and Bronze Resin (also known as Cold Cast Bronze), Tanya has honed her craft from an early age, apprenticing with her parents, well-known sculptors Lorne McKean FRBS and Edwin Russell FRBS, beginning at the age of sixteen.

Tanya’s passion for animals and commitment to animal welfare has been the driving force behind much of her artistic journey. A significant part of her career has focused on supporting animal charities and advocating for the well-being of wildlife and domestic animals alike. For every sale of our bronze bird sculptures, 10% of the proceeds go to either All Creatures Great and Small animal sanctuary, or the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.

About Bronze Resin & Foundry Bronze

Our bronze bird sculptures are available in both bronze resin and foundry bronze.

Bronze resin is a blend of bronze metal powder and resin, giving the appearance of traditional bronze at a more affordable price and with a lighter weight.

Foundry bronze, by contrast, is cast from molten metal, either solid or hollow depending on the sculpture’s size, using the traditional lost wax process. This material is exceptionally durable and can appreciate in value over time.
