SITTING CROSSBREED DOG SCULPTURE
“This mixed breed dog statue was a commission of a rescue dog named Jo Jo, who has passed away, but lived an amazing life with her sister Zoe in Vermont, USA. Jo Jo and her sister were actually pretty large dogs who were downsized to fit into two wall alcoves, but whose sculptures still ended up being like medium-sized dogs! The two much-loved rescues were both commissioned in Foundry Bronze metal, and I spent a lot of time trying to capture Zoe’s gorgeous smile and Jo Jo’s soft, sensitive expression. While I didn’t have the chance to meet them in person, I was able to work from photographs of the two of them enjoying the woods around their beautiful home.”
This bronze mixed breed dog statue bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the Sitting Crossbreed Dog sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support ‘The Dogs Trust’ animal charity.

Which Material to Choose
Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.
Foundry Bronze  – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.

This life-sized crossbreed dog statue is sculpted by the artist Tanya Russell, who is the UK’s pre-eminent dog sculptor. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the Sitting Mixed Breed Dog statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.
The Sitting Crossbreed Dog is a limited edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original clay vizsla sculpture, taken from a mould. Your bronze dog sculpture can be cast in Bronze Resin or Foundry Bronze metal depending on which material you prefer.
How The Sculpture Was Made
After the Sitting Crossbreed Dog statue was finished a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
