LYING CROSSBREED DOG SCULPTURE
“This crossbreed dog statue was a commission of a handsome mixed breed dog in the USA called Rocky. The commissioner had previously purchased my Lying Staffie sculpture, and got in touch regarding a commission of Rocky, who lived to be almost 17 years old. Sadly, while I never met Rocky, I was able to work from photographs. It was lovely hearing about Rocky’s playfulness, and how he used to love the squeaker in his balls, and would run up to the top of the stairs to drop his ball down them, so he could chase it down. I sculpted him with his distinctive ears, one up and one down, which give him such a quizzical, attentive and playful expression.”
This bronze mixed breed dog statue bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the Lying Crossbreed Dog with Ball sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support ‘The Dogs Trust’ animal charity.

This lying life-sized mixed breed dog statue is sculpted by the artist Tanya Russell, who is the UK’s pre-eminent dog sculptor. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the Lying Crossbreed Dog with Ball statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.
The Lying Crossbreed Dog with Ball is a limited edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original clay vizsla sculpture, taken from a mould. Your bronze dog sculpture can be cast in Bronze Resin or Foundry Bronze metal depending on which material you prefer.
How The Sculpture Was Made
After the Lying Crossbreed Dog with Ball statue was finished a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.

“It was very well packaged and arrived safe a sound. It’s so beautiful. I love the detail. I’m very happy I stumbled across your work last year. I had been searching in vain for a sculpture that would do Ruby justice. Then, early last year, I came across your “Lying Staffie” piece. When I received my copy, I was so impressed that I thought you would be able to work your magic on Rocky. And you did! It’s worth every penny.”
