SMALL SITTING JACK RUSSELL TERRIER SCULPTURE

The Jack Russell Terrier sculpture was the first small dog I created for the small animal sculptures series. I specialise in dog sculptures and have been sculpting them life-sized for many years. When I create larger sculptures I make maquettes – small models to show what the larger sculpture will look like.

Many of the maquettes are nice sculptures in their own right. So it was interesting to explore how working at a much smaller scale could translate into a finished piece.

This bronze small Sitting Jack Russell Terrier bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the Jack Russell sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support The Dogs Trust animal charity.

Which Material to Choose

Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.

Foundry Bronze  – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.

Sculpture Description, Bases & Fixings

This delightful Jack Russell Terrier statue is sculpted by artist Tanya Russell, who is well known for her life-like wildlife and animal sculptures. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the Jack Russell Terrier statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.

The small Sitting Jack Russell Terrier is an open edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original bronze sculpture from a mould.

If you would like this statue to be mounted on a stone or wooden base, please contact me for a quote.

How The Sculpture Was Made

The Small Sitting Jack Russell sculpture was modelled in wax, over a steel and aluminium armature for support. After the statue was finished a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
