Which material to choose?
Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.
Foundry Bronze – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.

The beautiful bronze Leopard Portrait sculpture is a casting of an original sculpture. It is hand cast by a British foundry or resin caster and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This is an original foundry or resin casting of the sculptor’s work that she has personally approved.
This casting is a perfect recreation of the original sculpture and bears the artist’s signature and its own unique edition number.

The inspiration behind the sculpture
I’ve been performing commissions for many years, and occasionally I have an opportunity to sculpt something entirely for myself. I’d previously modelled a leaping leopard and had loved researching these beautiful predators. I wanted to model a portrait only, to capture the stunning lines of the animal neck and head, and to develop my personal artistic style. I particularly pushed the darks and rough unexpected planes, to create marks that were unnatural, yet appropriate.
How it was made
In this case, I researched lots of source material, working from lots of photographs of leopards in a variety of poses and modelling it in clay. I wanted something strong and noble that looked striking even at a distance. I very much hope that one day I’ll be able to travel and visit these wonderful animals in the wild! The leopard head was modelled in clay, over a steel and aluminium armature for support.
Once I’d sculpted the Leopard Portrait sculpture a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
Wow, wow, wow!!!! We’ve just unboxed our leopard and it’s made me cry. Strong, but gentle and VERY tactile.
When gazing at it head on it appears to stare right back at you and into your soul – it’s almost alive.
We love the loose style and can feel the emotion that has gone into creating it. Beautiful. We are absolutely delighted. Thank you so much … And for packing it so carefully.
Delivery & returns
International delivery is available.
If you are an international buyer, you may need to pay local customs duties or taxes when importing a sculpture into your country. This most often applies to more valuable sculptures. Your local customs and taxes are not prepaid for you. If you contact us we can try to estimate them for you.
Sculpture that is broken in transit to you may be returned, and a replacement sculpture will be sent to you, at no further cost. If no replacement is available, we will cast a new one for you, or offer you a refund.
