“The Sitting Dachshund Puppy was modelled on Pudding, the cutest little puppy who had gorgeous coloured markings. It’s very rare that I’m commissioned to do a very young dog and Pudding was delightfully sweet and loved to sit on your lap. It was also quite amusing to be sculpting her at the same time as my life-sized Great Dane!”

This bronze dachshund statue bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the Sitting Dachshund Puppy sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support The Dogs Trust animal charity.

Which Material to Choose

Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.

Foundry Bronze  – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.

This table-sized dachshund statue is sculpted by the artist Tanya Russell, who is the UK’s pre-eminent dog sculptor. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the Dachshund statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.

The Sitting Dachshund Puppy sculpture is a limited edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original clay dachshund sculpture, taken from a mould. Your bronze dog sculpture can be cast in Bronze Resin or Foundry Bronze metal depending on which material you prefer.

How The Sculpture Was Made

The Sitting Dachshund Puppy sculpture was sculpted using photographs of Pudding, the model for the original piece. Tanya and her owner decided on which pose would suit her best and proceeded to create the Dachshund statue in clay.

Once the figure was sculpted, a rubber mould was taken, with keys placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. After, a shell of fibreglass was applied to protect the bronze Dachshund sculpture and support it during the casting process.
