Which material to choose?
Bronze Resin – bronze metal powder is mixed with a resin to create the appearance of foundry bronze metal, but is more affordable and lightweight.
Foundry Bronze – refers to the poured molten metal that is cast solid or hollow, depending on size, at a bronze foundry (using the traditional lost wax process). It is more robust and will appreciate in value.
Metric – H: 125 W: 98 D: 47 centimetres
Imperial – H: 49 W: 39 D: 19 inches

As this sculpture is handmade the bronze colour may vary.
The beautiful bronze Sitting Great Dane sculpture is a casting of an original sculpture. It is hand cast by a British foundry or resin caster and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This is an original foundry or resin casting of the sculptor’s work that she has personally approved.
This casting is a perfect recreation of the original sculpture and bears the artist’s signature and its own unique edition number.

The inspiration behind the sculpture
The Sitting Great Dane was commissioned of Mr Barker, who’d passed away before the owner met me. I was so thrilled to have the chance to sculpt such a magnificent dog, and Mr Barker was a particularly handsome example of the breed.
Funnily enough I actually met the owner here at Moelfre, when he came up to collect three goats to take home with him as pets, (being males they’d been rescued from slaughter at a dairy farm.) I think he spotted my Leaping Bearded Collie sculpture outside, and very happily asked me whether I’d sculpt Mr Barker!
How it was made
I wasn’t able to visit Mr Barker before he passed, but I was sent plenty of photos of him in a variety of poses. With his owners, I decided which pose would suit him best, then proceeded to model Mr Barker in clay.
Once I’d sculpted Mr Barker a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
“Thank you very much for making Mr Barker sculpture for us, it is amazing and captures his spirit so well. […] Really brilliant addition to the home for us.”
