STANDING LABRADOR SCULPTURE
“For many years an opportunity to commission a dog sculpture from me was auctioned at Battersea Dog and Cats Home’s annual fundraiser. I modelled this Standing Labrador sculpture on Leo as part of a labrador pair for the generous bidder.
Leo and Barney were very lively and affectionate and spent quite a lot of the time sitting on top of the garden table.”
This bronze labrador statue bears Tanya’s signature and unique edition number. Your casting of the Standing Labrador sculpture will be personally approved and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
10% of the proceeds from this bronze dog sculpture support ‘The Dogs Trust’ animal charity.

Sculpture Description, Bases & Fixings
Suitable for outdoor display as a labrador garden ornament or labrador memorial statue.
This statue is provided with screw-in threaded rods for added stability in soft ground, which also allow you to bolt it onto, or glue it into, hard surfaces. Alternatively, if requested, we can provide fixed or screw in security rings, which will allow you to lock the sculpture to a buried security chain.
This beautiful lifesized labrador statue is sculpted by the artist Tanya Russell, who is the UK’s pre-eminent dog sculptor. Tanya has a passion for improving the welfare of the animals she sculpts and 10% of all proceeds from the Standing Labrador statue will go to the ‘Dogs Trust’, a charity that provides sanctuary and rehoming services for dogs in the UK and also lobbies for welfare policy changes all over the world.
The Standing Labrador is a limited edition sculpture, and your piece will be a superb recreation of the original clay lab sculpture, taken from a mould. Your bronze dog sculpture can be cast in Bronze Resin or Foundry Bronze metal depending on which material you prefer.
How The Sculpture Was Made
I visited Leo and took lots of photographs of him in a variety of poses. I watched his expressions and mannerisms, and heard about the way he behaved at home with his family. After that, with his owners, I decided which pose would suit him best, then proceeded to model Leo in clay.
Once I’d sculpted Leo a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
