The beautiful bronze Leaping Bearded Collie sculpture is a casting of an original sculpture. It is hand cast by a British foundry or resin caster and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This is an original foundry or resin casting of the sculptor’s work that she has personally approved.
This casting is a perfect recreation of the original sculpture and bears the artist’s signature and its own unique edition number.

The inspiration behind the sculpture
This sculpture was modelled on Keefa, who had unfortunately passed away before I was asked to do the commission.
His owners showed their beautiful Bearded Collies, so I not only had photos of him to work from, but also had the pleasure of having his companion model for me so I could take lots of measurements.
The challenge with Keefa was in preserving a sense of dynamic play while sculpting his long hair. But consequently it feels like he’s really leaping for a ball in the sculpture, and I hope his sculpture continues to give his owners happy memories of him long into the future.
Keefa was originally cast in foundry bronze, and his memorial now plays beside a beautiful pond.
How it was made
As I wasn’t able to sit with Keefa, I took measurements of the owners other bearded collies. I relied on photographs of him in a variety of poses, looking for his expressions and mannerisms, and hearing about the way he behaved at home with his family. After that, with his owners, I decided which pose would suit Keefa best, then proceeded to model him in clay.
Once I’d sculpted Keefa a rubber mould was taken, with ‘keys’ placed in the rubber to ensure proper positioning. Then a shell of fibreglass was applied, to protect the mould and support it during the casting process.
“I am absolutely delighted with ‘Millie Dog’ as we will call her. Your courier was also very professional and had taken great care in the packaging.”
“We are now sitting with a glass of wine admiring our sculpture Keefa in situ in the garden by the magnolia tree he looks so beautiful (will send you some photos)”
